Love your neighbour as yourself

There was great jubilation next door following Tottenham's victory over Chelsea in Sunday's Carling Cup Final. Our neighbour watched the match in a pub near White Hart Lane - the atmosphere had been electric. Celebrations spilled onto the local streets afterwards and crowds of supporters brought traffic to a standstill. One delirious conga line danced its way on and off a double deck bus entertaining a few bemused passengers in the process. Things could be a bit tense in our road for a few days - our neighbour's neighbour is an ardent Chelsea fan.

There was great jubilation in our house too. After my wife publicly confessed to the murky state of our back room windows in her sermon yesterday, I thought I'd better clean them. They were dirtier on the inside than the outside (it doesn't rain inside!). Anyway they are now sparkling...the trouble is we can see our back garden... which means we'll have to tidy it up! It never ends does it?! Why can't we get some big net curtains or maybe we should move to a new house?! Which reminds me, our Spurs-mad neighbours have put their house on the market. They are the best neighbours in the world so were very sad to see the 'For Sale' sign appear. We are tempted to smash some plates and play really loud music everytime they have a viewing in the hope of putting people off - but that wouldn't be very Christian would it?

I wonder if I can find my son's Clash album - I'm sure he never took it with him when he left home...
